Bernardita Garib D.
Visual Artist, Political Scientist and Cultural Manager.

Borned in Santiago de Chile, she graduated with a degree in Political Science, a career she
pursued for two years working for APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Council).

Then she began her studies at the School of Art of the Catholic University, to start his
artistic career, to which she has been dedicated for more than 15 years, painting being her
main discipline.

She perfected her knowledge with the artists Carlos Maturana, (Bororo), Claudia Campaña
and Concepción Balmes, among others.

At the same time, she began writing in the renowned medium of art called Arte Al Límite,
for seven years, in addition to managing various cultural projects. She served as director of
Art Week Chile, an international art fair, for six years.
At the same time, she exhibits her artistic work collectively and individually in various
spaces in Chile and abroad. Her participation in Art Expo New York, Art Dublin (2008) and
the Florence Biennial (2017) stand out, spaces that that were very relevant in his career.

She obtained the “Mention Painting” award at the Buenos Aires Biennial (2014) and the
Barcelona Winter Salon (2008) as well as the “Recognition as a Latin American Artist”
award at Art Expo New York, the same year. She was chosen to be part of the book
“Women in Chilean art”, edited by Arte al Límite in 2018, sold in museums and galleries in
our country.

She has exhibited works in public spaces such as the “Bancas Pintadas” project together
with Municipalidad de Vitacura and Galería La Sala, as well as “Recycling Bells”, an
initiative project of Municipalidad Las Condes and Elije Vidrio, 2021.
In recent years, she has professionalized her studies in photography, a discipline that is
beginning to be part of his artistic work in a more active and leading way.
