Collection: Cleyton Tobias, visual artist

Cleyton Mónica Tobias is a self-taught artist from São Tomé and Príncipe, currently residing in Portugal. He began his artistic journey at the age of 12, developing a passion for painting and drawing. After the loss of his father at the age of 19, Cleyton took on the responsibility of caring for his family while continuing his artistic studies in the capital of São Tomé.

In 2024, Cleyton moved to Portugal in search of better opportunities and began painting in a small room after work. That same year, he participated in his first exhibition in Oeiras, where his works were well-received and praised by the public.

His art is strongly inspired by the life and culture of São Tomé and Príncipe, exploring themes such as daily life on the island, the lush nature, and the rich cultural heritage. His paintings reflect not only his personal experiences but also the beauty and depth of São Tomé's culture.
