Paula Carmona Valente was born on July 27, 1965, in Amadora.
A natural communicator and passionate about various art forms, she initially enrolled in a degree in Hotel Management. Although something about the hospitality industry piqued her interest, she soon realized it was not her true calling and decided to enter the job market. She began working at a renowned telecommunications company, where she served as a management support technician for 33 years.
Always attentive to all forms of art—through exhibitions, theater, cinema, literature, dance, and music—she began to develop an interest she had never explored before: the ability to transfer everything she saw around her onto paper.
She lived in the Sintra area, where the beautiful landscapes and beaches inspired her to capture the natural beauty on canvas.
In 2000, she moved to Lisbon in search of new opportunities and dreams. It was in Lisbon that she began restoring some paintings she had at home.
Becoming increasingly involved in the art world, in 2014, while still working in telecommunications, she found the time and deep motivation to attend the Atelier Internacional de Belas Artes. Based in Belém and led by the artist Rui Carruço, the Atelier introduced her to the joy of experimenting with various painting techniques. Challenge by challenge, she perfected her acrylic painting skills, reaching the level she demonstrates today.
Her immense passion for animals allows her to depict them skillfully with acrylic techniques. She also has a great love for seascapes and feels she is constantly evolving and changing as an artist. While she loves painting animals the most, she enjoys painting a little bit of everything—anything that captures her attention in her daily life.
Since 2014, Paula has participated in several group exhibitions organized by Atelier IBA, showcasing the students’ work.
To this day, she remains in Lisbon, pursuing her dream of acrylic painting.
