WELCOME TO ART GALLERY THE ONE

Collection: Paulo Santos, visual artist

Artist featured by Art Gallery The One in a collection.

Paulo Miguel Santos was born in Portugal in 1968. From an early age, his journey was marked by challenges, including the absence of formal training in Fine Arts. However, his passion for artistic expression led him to become self-taught, exploring painting and drawing techniques on his own.

Due to a physical condition that limited his social interactions, he found in art a path to self-discovery, immersing himself in books, experimenting with different techniques, and developing a unique style. His special interest in charcoal drawings and acrylic paintings resulted in distinctive works, where each stroke and brushstroke reflect his essence and personal narrative. His journey is a testament to the human ability to turn challenges into achievements, celebrating beauty and artistic expression.

Paulo Santos has been actively involved in the Portuguese art scene, participating in various individual and collective exhibitions.

Among his solo exhibitions, notable highlights include the one held on 06/06/23 at the Portuguese Freemasonry GOIF MP in Algés, as well as the exhibition on 24/03/24 at Colinas do Cruzeiro in Odivelas, Lisbon, which accompanied the presentation of the book Hórus e o Quinto Império by Luís Belo Morais. On 23/05/24, he exhibited again at the same venue with Portvgraal Holístico e o seu Destino. Currently, he maintains a solo exhibition at CPE – Clínica de Medicina Dentária de Setúbal, in partnership with Casa da Cultura de Setúbal and Artiset, running from 10/08/24 to 30/08/24.

In the realm of collective exhibitions, he took part in events such as International Women’s Day (08/03/24) and 50 Years of April 25th (06/04/24), both organized by Casa da Cultura and Artiset. On 17/05/24, he participated in the International Recycling Day exhibition, followed by his presence at Art Gallery D. Pedro in Porto on 18/05/24. On 01/06/24, he joined the inauguration of Atelier Aquarelas África, participating in the exhibition As Cores da Lusofonia, which was attended by Angolan and Portuguese officials.

Additionally, his work is part of the collective exhibition Perspetiva Zero Resíduos, at the Centro de Artes e Espetáculos da Figueira da Foz, in partnership with Artiset and AAAGP, running until 30/07/24.

His work reflects a continuous commitment to art and culture, strengthening his presence in the artistic circuit through meaningful collaborations and exhibitions.
