Rosemary Gaspar, daughter of emigrant parents, was born in Canada in 1968 and has been considered the creative one of the family from an early age. Her life choices led her to work in the fields of sales, marketing, and advertising. Nevertheless, the desire to paint always lingered in some corner of her soul, patiently waiting for the opportunity to emerge.
In 2022, she ventured into the world of abstract painting, where she found an entirely new atmosphere of peace and tranquility that transcends the physical world and time. She is self-taught and paints in an abstract style because she enjoys the freedom it gives her to express her emotions and feelings. This quest for freedom of expression is also evident when she explores various styles and incorporates many elements into her works, elements that naturally arise from the painting itself—stains, shapes, colors, and brushstrokes.
In her work, she seeks to explore, on one hand, the powerful energy of nature, where renewal is a constant and strength an inspiration, and on the other hand, the energy of existence itself. To her, an old wall is not just mortar and worn stone—it is a magical portal to a realm of deep and intangible sensations, a vessel of centuries of silent stories.
In 2024, she exhibited for the first time in a painting competition, where she won 3rd prize in Portalegre.
