São Matthias Nunes, also known as Matias Nunes, is a prominent Portuguese visual artist and performer with roots in Benguela, Angola. São Matthias Nunes is a multifaceted artist, with an outstanding academic background that includes a Master's degree in Intermedia Visual Arts from the University of Évora, a Postgraduate degree in Art Therapy from the Portuguese Society of Art Therapy (SPAT), a Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts from the ESTAL – Superior School of Arts and Technologies of Lisbon, and additional courses in sculpture, visual arts, and music. Throughout her career, she has engaged in various professional activities, ranging from acting and directing to teaching visual arts and theater in various institutions. She is the founder and artistic director of the Art’Ensemble School of Art, where she also teaches visual arts. Additionally, she has founded and directed the QUIMERA Theater Group of Quinta do Anjo. Her dedication and talent have earned her recognition, including awards in 2021, solidifying her position as a prominent figure in the art world in Portugal.
