Cristina Costa is a Brazilian visual artist who embraced the freedom of becoming a self-taught painter at the age of 68. With no academic artistic training and being entirely self-taught, her creative autonomy guides her. She paints purely with heart and intuition, allowing herself to be carried by the emotion of the soul. Today, she is fully dedicated to art.
Before that, she built a successful career as an international businesswoman — a journey that took her across continents and immersed her in diverse cultures. These experiences left profound emotional and affective marks that now shape the passionate and expressive nature of her work.
“My protagonists are people with strong character. They express their emotions freely and are unafraid to reveal their true selves and their imperfections. Art offers me not only a new path, but a home for my essence.”
In her works, there is always a trace of freedom — whether in the choice of forms, the boldness of colors, or the absence of technical limits. Cristina does not simply paint pictures; she paints her life, with all the nuances that have made her who she is, proving that art knows no age limits to blossom.
