Eunice Lopes (Leiria, Portugal, 1979) is a Portuguese artist who showed an aptitude for drawing and manual arts from an early age. Her passion for painting emerged after discovering the work of Salvador Dalí, finding strong inspiration in Surrealism and Symbolism.
She began painting on canvas in 1999 at an art studio in Leiria. Although largely self-taught, she complemented her training in local ateliers and, in 2005, studied painting and drawing at the Sociedade Nacional de Belas-Artes in Lisbon.
Throughout her career she has presented several solo exhibitions, including “Era uma vez” (2024, Leiria Tourism Office), “Inspirações” (2024, Biblioteca Municipal Ferreira do Zêzere), “Bailando” (2024, Teatro José Lúcio da Silva) and “Instantes” (2023, Ourém Town Hall Auditorium). She has also participated in important collective exhibitions and international art events such as Artist360 – Feira de Arte Contemporânea (Madrid, 2025), the Encontro de Arte Contemporânea de Conil (Spain, 2025), the Bienal Internacional de Gaia (2025), and the Bienal Internacional de Trás-os-Montes (2024).
After a period of pause, she resumed her artistic activity in 2020, producing works in oil, pastel, and watercolor. Her works are held in private collections in Portugal, France, Germany, Sweden, and the United States. In 2022, two of her watercolors were also published in the poetry magazine Acanto V. Her creative process is summarized in the idea of “painting what the eyes see and the heart feels.”
