Collection: João da Silva, visual artist
Artist featured by Art Gallery The One in a collection. |
The visual artist João da Silva was born in Lisbon in 1988 and holds a degree in Architecture. He began his artistic studies at the National Society of Fine Arts in Lisbon. His artistic journey traces back to 2005 when he started painting under the guidance of Brazilian naive artists Zé Cordeiro and Edna de Araraquara while completing his studies. Later, he sought the teachings of visionary master Luís Vieira-Baptista, from whom he continues to learn.
As a romantic artist, João da Silva has no interest in depicting exact truth but rather in conveying a sense of feeling. His work reflects a profound interest in exploring psychological and emotional states, serving as a reflection of the pain of existence. It stands in stark contrast to logical thinking. Moreover, he is an individual who comprehends his place in nature, having captured the concept of the sublime.
