Collection: José Pereira (corre-pé), visual artist
|
Artist featured by Arca Gallery The One in a collection. |
He studied at the António Arroio Art School, where he took a course in image (cinema, photography, and drawing). He developed graphic works for the world under the name "corre-pé," which he adopted as a plastic artist.
In 2023, he decided to dedicate himself professionally to his passion for painting. His painting combines the abstract and figurative in a colorful universe where each detail is carefully considered, as color determines the sensation and atmosphere of his works. His creative approach is a spontaneous interpretation of photographic memories, or not.
His work reflects his experience and inner energy while appealing to the observer's imagination through expressive and colorful characters or figures that possess deep meaning.
He seeks to integrate emotional and existential depth into human and animal forms. His palette is filled with vibrant colors, mainly primary colors, evoking emotions and moods. The compositions often tell a story that invites imagination and introspection. Through his painting, he aims to establish a connection between the observer's emotions and the essence of their own experiences and feelings.
His works are not just visual pieces but a reflection of his deep engagement with the world around him.
In a creative process that stems from ideas or photographic memories, the result always emerges from a continuous dialogue between him and the canvas, challenging and surpassing his creative limits to find and convey the message, thereby marking his identity in painting.
