Luis Marín is a self-taught visual artist whose practice has developed over the years in a field where intuition and structure coexist in a fluid balance. With several years of experience in drawing and painting, his work is inspired by the principles of sacred geometry and geometric abstraction, unfolding both in figurative and abstract compositions.

Rather than representing, Luis Marín translates. His work arises from a deep connection with people, places, animals, and lived experiences, through which he perceives complete images emerging from an inner dimension. These visions are transformed into compositions that explore energy, balance, and symbolism, where form and matter act as vehicles for information that the artist articulates and translates into visual language.

He works with mixed techniques, integrating therapeutic practices into an intuitive and sensitive creative process. Each artwork is not presented as an isolated object, but as the visible trace of a broader experience: a fragment of wholeness that preserves the imprint of its emotional and spiritual origin.

His creative process begins with the emergence of a complete image in his inner perception, still devoid of color but deeply structured and full of meaning. At this stage, the work manifests as a totality in which geometric relationships, symbols, and overall composition are already present. From this initial vision, he develops sketches that transfer the image into the visible plane, later materializing it as painting on canvas.

Color is introduced progressively, emerging layer by layer after the application of the first tone, always respecting the harmony and original intention of the work. The compositions are organized through geometric principles of balance, proportion, and visual resonance, revealing a silent discipline that supports the apparent spontaneity of the final result. Each piece is thus constructed as a space of internal coherence, where form, color, and structure converge to transmit a message that transcends the purely visual.

In his work, there is a constant search to reconcile the visible with the invisible, the rational with the intuitive. And in that attempt — sometimes serene, sometimes unsettling — lies precisely its power.

Exhibition Career

Luis Marín has developed an active exhibition career both in virtual environments and physical spaces. In 2022, he participated in the virtual exhibition “Inspirações Sagradas” (Venezuela).

In Portugal, Luis Marín has taken part in numerous group exhibitions, especially in Lisbon, including:
