Collection: Pilar Megias, visual artist

Pilar Megias was born in Granada, Spain, in 1954, and has lived in Portugal for over 40 years, where she has dedicated her life to the arts. From a young age, her passion for drawing and painting was evident, and her talent was quickly recognized by her teachers, setting the foundation for a lifelong artistic journey.

Since 2003, Pilar has devoted herself entirely to painting, exhibiting regularly since 2005. Her work, rooted in abstract and expressionist styles, reflects a deep connection with nature and a sensitive exploration of human emotion. Known as “The Painter of Emotions,” she aims for viewers not only to observe her paintings but to feel them — to embark on a visual and emotional journey.

She mainly works with acrylic and oil paints, constantly experimenting with new materials and textures to create dynamic visual effects. Her art is characterized by spontaneity, authenticity, and a search for emotional truth. Pilar believes that remaining faithful to one’s inner vision and creative impulses is the key to meaningful art.
