Collection: Alvaro Cruz, visual artist

Since 1990, Álvaro Cruz has held an extensive exhibition career, with more than 50 group and solo exhibitions in museums, galleries, cultural centers, and institutional spaces throughout Portugal and abroad.

His group exhibitions have taken place in important venues such as the Museum of Electricity (Lisbon), Supreme Court of Justice (Lisbon), Coliseu dos Recreios (Lisbon), Museu do Trabalho (Setúbal), Museu de Arqueologia e Etnografia de Setúbal, and various municipal galleries and cultural institutions in Setúbal, Lisbon, Seixal, Alcochete, Sesimbra, Sintra, Odivelas, Amora, and Azeitão. Internationally, he has participated in the International Contemporary Art Fair in Madrid (2025) and exhibited at the ARTCom Expo Gallery in Norway (2025).

His solo exhibitions have been presented in prominent museums and galleries, including the Museu Casa Bocage (Setúbal), Museu Municipal de Alcochete, Museu de Estremoz, Casa da Cultura de Elvas, Galeria Municipal de Torres Vedras, Galeria Trindade (Lisbon), and Casa da Baía – Municipal Gallery (Setúbal), among others.

Recent exhibitions from 2024 to 2025 highlight continued artistic activity, with shows in cultural centers, libraries, municipal galleries, and national art associations, reinforcing his sustained presence in the Portuguese contemporary art scene and his growing international visibility.
