Gilberto Gaspar is a Portuguese visual artist known for his work that delves into themes related to the connection with the earth and nature, often criticizing extractivism and modernity. Gaspar studied Image and Audiovisual Communication at Escola António Arroio, Drawing at the National Society of Fine Arts, and attended Fine Arts courses at the Escola Superior de Arte e Design das Caldas da Rainha and the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon.
Achievements
- Represented in municipal collections in Seixal and Barreiro, and museums in Ovar and Caldas da Rainha.
- Won an honorable mention at the Centro Pastoral Paulo VI competition and first prize in live painting in Proença-a-Nova.
- Illustrated José Mira's book "A evolução da mota" with watercolors.
- Participated in the "Há Art no Esgoto" project with 12 manhole covers in Lisbon.
- Set designer for the Amadora Comics Festival.
