Collection: Maria De Fátima Silva, visual artist
Artist featured by Art Gallery The One in a collection. |
Maria De Fátima Silva, born in Ericeira, Portugal, in 1970, graduated with a degree in Design from IADE - Creative University in 1994. Between 1990 and 1993, she studied painting at AR.CO - Center for Art and Visual Communication. Since 1992, she has combined her work as an artist with teaching.
Her artistic work is deeply rooted in the ancient history of Portugal, focusing on themes such as prehistoric sites, the Great Goddess, the love story of Pedro and Inês de Castro, and the angelic world. She explores these themes through research at archaeological and historical sites, integrating them with literature, philosophy, mythology, and spirituality, often emphasizing feminine aspects. Silva’s compositions are built through the construction and deconstruction of symbols, emotions, and historical and dreamlike memories.
Her work has been exhibited in various venues, including the Convento da Graça in Torres Vedras, Palácio de Cristal in Porto, the Geological Museum in Lisbon, the Louvre in Paris, and the International Contemporary Art Exhibition in Madrid, among others.
