Carmen Duarte Ferreira is a visual artist and educator with a diverse and dedicated career in the fields of visual arts, heritage conservation, and arts education.

Education:

• Studied Graphic Arts and Visual Arts at the Escola de Artes Decorativas and Escola de Artes António Arroio.
• Holds a Bachelor’s in Conservation and Restoration of Archaeological and Ethnographic Assets from the Museu de Arqueologia in Conímbriga.
• Earned a Degree in Fine Arts (Painting) from the Faculdade de Belas Artes, Universidade de Lisboa.
• Completed Teacher Certification in Visual Arts at the University of Lisbon.

Professional Experience:

• Created book covers and illustrations for literary publishers.
• Worked on layout and illustration for daily and weekly newspapers.
• Developed artistic and functional recycling projects.
• Engages in contemporary tile painting and has exhibited her work in Portugal and abroad.
• Founded the "Etno_Artes_Mulheres_África" project in Mozambique, focusing on art, culture, and women’s empowerment.
• Taught Visual Arts in public schools in Portugal and a private school in Mozambique.
