Carmo Oliveira (Maria do Carmo Gomes de Oliveira, Portugal, 1957) is a Portuguese visual artist whose work is primarily focused on painting. Self-taught, she found in pictorial art a natural means of expressing her sensitivity and her deep connection with emotion and the observation of the world around her.
Her work is mainly centered on oil painting on canvas, as well as the use of acrylic, with a strong affinity for realism and impressionism. Throughout her career, she has refined her technique and consolidated a personal visual language characterized by chromatic harmony, serenity, and a strong emotional presence.
Carmo Oliveira’s creative process is rooted in silence and introspection, understanding each brushstroke as an intimate and authentic expression. Painting represents for her a space of truth, balance, and creative freedom.
She has participated in several solo and group exhibitions, including at the Gallery of the Hospital of Torres Novas, various charitable associations, the Clube de Santarém, and the Antur Bual Cultural Artistic Circle. Part of her work is held in private collections abroad, reflecting the recognition and reach of her work beyond Portugal.
