Diogo M. Soares, born in 1988 in Santarém, Portugal, is a contemporary painter with a background in art education and clinical psychology. He holds an MA in Art Education/Fine Arts from Lisbon School of Education and an MA in Clinical Psychology from the University of Évora. Soares' work, recognized with several awards, has been part of public and private collections since 2012.

From a young age, Diogo felt a deep desire to engage in the creative process. He views painting as a means of expressing his emotions, reinventing beauty, and creating a space for self-reflection. His art reflects a careful observation of reality, influenced by his emotions, and is marked by a contemplative, poetic style. His landscapes, often devoid of human presence, are inspired by his connection to the rural environment where he grew up, with nature serving as a constant source of inspiration. He emphasizes light, shadow, shapes, and colors in his compositions, capturing their subtle transformations.

Diogo has received numerous accolades, including an Honorable Mention in the 2024 Martins da Costa Painting Award and selections for prestigious exhibitions, such as the XII Biennial of Plastic Arts of Santa Catarina in 2023. His artistic career also includes education in emotional painting, art history, and psychology of art. He has exhibited his work in various galleries across Portugal and internationally, including in Madrid, Porto, and Burgos.
