Judite Leitão was born on January 30, 1953, in Casal do Paul–Almoster, Portugal. Married and mother of three children, she studied Family Education at the School of Social Training in Leiria.

Artistic expression has accompanied her since a young age through writing, theatre, singing, and painting. Although painting always fascinated her, she dedicated much of her creative work to literature, publishing the books Afagos and Degraus do Tempo.

After retiring from professional activity and through UTIS (University of the Third Age of Santarém), she expanded her artistic practice to include music and painting. She is also part of a cavaquinho ensemble. Learning to observe and translate colours, movement, and emotion onto canvas led her to deepen her studies in painting at UTIS. Her works express emotions, memories, experiences, and reflections gathered throughout her life journey.
