The artist duo POTOW — People Of The Old Ways — is a unique collaboration between a
father (b. 1965, The Netherlands) and his son (b. 2001, The Netherlands). ~While the father
brings over 20 years of experience in painting and international art sales — having sold a few hundred paintings across Spain, Germany, and the Netherlands,—the son grew up inspired by his father’s studio work, fully joining the creative practice in 2018. Together, their shared bond forms the heartbeat of their art. By blending the father's established style in acrylic paint with the son's modern techniques using airbrush and stencils, they create a truly unique aesthetic. Inspired by faith, POTOW explores the vivid contrasts of our modern world, striking a delicate balance between tradition and innovation, peace and war, and contemplation and relaxation. While the father has a rich history of independent artistic activity across different countries, the duo has only recently begun becoming public in Portugal. This past September, they made their public debut with a self-hosted exhibition called "Apocalyptic Views," showcasing their same- named series.
